where was the most popular place for people to live when they came to Canada and what was it like?

The most popular place for the people to live when they came to Canada was Upper Canada. Upper Canada is now Southern Ontario but back then Canada was divided into two parts, Upper and Lower Canada. Lower Canada is now the province of Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador. Upper Canada back then was all quiet land, to some pioneers noises from animals and steampowered saw mills were considered noisy. The noises of fiddles and musical instruments at important social events like weddings and occasional parties was rare. It was also common to go over to your neighbors and help out or just visit then it is today. It was very hard to grow your food because often it took years to raise a good crop that was not used to pay off your debt or consumed by your family. Pretty much everyone was in debt at least once over their lifetime.
